Plunker’s Deep Dive


 

iPhone game by Whitney Taylor

DESCRIPTION
Plunker is trapped in an elevator, his only way out is to jump. Based on accelerometer input, tilt the phone to move plunker around the elevator shaft, dodging and hitting speed arrows along the walls. If Plunker falls too fast, he will squish on the bottom floor. If Plunker goes too slow, the falling elevator will crash down on top of him. Navigate to the bottom floor at the correct speed, in order to get Plunker out safely.

River Rage – iPhone Game


River Rage is an interactive kayaking game that allows the player to maneuver down a rushing river while attempting to avoid obstacles such as rocks, rapids, and waterfalls.

To steer the kayak, place two fingers on the screen. A line forms between the touch points, representing the kayak paddle. Move your fingers as necessary to steer the kayak. Tilt the device forward and back to control the direction of the avatar’s paddle strokes.

River Rage provides a thrilling experience full of exciting moments and quick decision-making that simulates the extreme kayaking experience.

SNOnetwork “alternative gesture navigation scheme for wild environments” wins first prize in the interactive application category at the Game Developer’s eXchange Entelechy Show in Savannah, GA.

Digital Flux won second prize in the installation category. Great weekend for XCentric Design!

Robo – iPhone Game

This game includes accelerometer input to control Robo’s movement and touch input to control his light.

When Robo’s light is on, the player can see his environment and eat smaller fish and pieces of food in the water to increase Robo’s health. When Robo’s light is off, he is in stealth mode, trying to avoid predators.

When the Puffers see the light, they enlarge in a natural defense mechanism, making them dangerous as they can harm Robo at this larger size. When the light is off, the Puffers shrink down to their normal size, allowing them to be eaten by Robo if he times his attack correctly.

The player must balance between having the light on and off, to safely navigate Robo to safer waters.
